Where to chase giant trevally in Australia

GTs are a tropical reef and coastal species. They show up from the mid-NSW coast all the way around the top and down to the central WA coast, with the best fishing concentrated in the warm water above the Tropic of Capricorn.

The Great Barrier Reef from Lizard Island down to the Capricorn Bunkers is classic GT country. Reef edges, bommies, sand pressure points; all worth a popper.

Far North Queensland headlands and coral cay flats from Cooktown to the Torres Strait deliver world-class GT fishing.
