The Goodoo features an embroidered Murray cod — known locally as Goodoo — a true river monster that lurks in slow, outback systems and swallows just about anything that drifts past.

These are big-headed, bad-mannered fish that sit deep in timber and holes, coming alive after a fresh runs through the system. When the water’s on the rise, anything is fair game — lures, yabbies, cheese, chicken, or whatever else you decide to put on your hook.

Cod fishing is patient fishing. Long stretches of nothing, followed by sudden weight and the unmistakable feeling that you’ve hooked something that lives there permanently.
