Scott — Founder, Outfished

Scott is the founder of Outfished and the angler behind every cap in the range. He’s fished Australian water since he was a boy — barely tall enough to hold a rod when he landed his first whiting — and the decades since have gone into learning what actually works on the water, and what doesn’t.

Home base is Brisbane. Most weekends that means Moreton Bay and the Brisbane River — chasing the usual bay species and whatever the tide pushes through. When the inland rivers are running, he heads for the Macintyre after cod, yellowbelly and the ever-present carp.

Why Outfished exists

The hats on the market weren’t built for the way Australians actually fish. Sun that doesn’t ease into the day. Glare off the water by mid-morning. Salt, wind and long sessions that punish flimsy gear. Outfished caps are designed around those conditions, and each one is named for a species Scott chases — so the gear reflects the water it’s worn on.

The Field Guide articles draw on that first-hand experience: the species, the locations, and the gear that holds up.

Why trust Outfished

Outfished is an independent, Australian-owned brand designed in Queensland. There’s no marketing department deciding what an angler needs — just one person who fishes, tests the gear, and stands behind it. If a cap doesn’t earn its place on Scott’s own head, it doesn’t make the range.
